Anupriya Subbian graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture from the School of Architecture and Planning, Anna University, Chennai. An architect and an interior designer by profession, She worked with Ar. Alex Jacob, Shankar Associates and as a team lead at Khosla Associates, with Ar. Sandeep Khosla in Bangalore. Her work experience at these design houses and a natural inclination towards the sculpting of interior spaces inspired her to pursue a Masters in Interior Design at Pratt Institute in New York, following which, she founded Triple O Studio, a multi disciplinary design firm based in Chennai.
Their ethos is characterised by a collaborative, open and non-hierarchical ideating culture bringing together a multidisciplinary team of architects, interior designers, urban designers, planners, and other professionals. They strive to create impactful designs that aspire to have positive, social, economic, and environmental effects that are rooted in their context. They believe that the best results stem from healthy and holistic dialogue with all the stakeholders. They approach each project as a collaboration with our clients and an opportunity to work hand in hand with open communication, discussion, and a shared vision. Her strengths lie in addressing the challenges that come across my way, in any project, with a focused problem-solving technique and keen attention to detail. Besides Triple O Studio. She have cofounded three initiatives: 1) Madras Inherited - a heritage research, documentation and awareness inititive based in Chennai 2) Triple O Pixel - for architecture and interior photography and documentation 3) Merit League - for turnkey solutions. She have taught at MARG Institute of Design and Architecture. Swarnabhoomi, Chennai, for two years and have been a visiting faculty at other architecture colleges. She was also honoured to be nominated as a Global Shaper in the Chennai Hub. From Santiago to Shanghai and Los Angeles to London, the Global Shapers Community is an initiative of the World Economic Forum. Shapers are exceptional in their potential, their achievements and their drive to make a positive contribution to their communities. Nominated between the ages of 20 and 29, and working in diverse fields, the Shapers are a network of hubs founded and led by the next generation. As an outreach and community engagement and learning program, She started 'Evolve Wednesday' in Triple O Studio. This was an open platform where we would invite a person of exception acros diverse fields and skill sets to do a talk, workshop or discussion at our studio. These inspiring sessions are open to all and free of charge, a way to break the midweek blues, re-energize and refresh. Evolve Wednesday sessions have seen architects, programmers, artists, theatre artists, singers, social workers, sports personalities, anthropologists, writers, lawyers and many more outstanding people grace the audience with their talent and skill.
