Ar. Avanii Dhotre is the Principle Architect of her studio named CREATRIX, based in Pune since 2012. She graduated from Bhanuben Nanavati college of Architecture, Pune University in the year 2008. The studio works on various architectural, interiors , as well as landscape projects. Avanii , from a very tender age, had an inclination towards various art art forms such as singing , dancing , painting, dramatics etc. She has completed her graduation in Bharatnatyam classical dance (Arangetram) in 2003. She has won many awards for solo and duet singing, best acting awards for drama competetions ( Ekankika ), Natyavachan competetions . She choreographs and performs classical dance on various platforms. She has a passion for teaching as well, hence she teaches design in architectural colleges as a visiting faculty. Ar. Avanii is the PRESIDENT ELECT FOR THE YEAR 21-22, for ROTARY CLUB OF PUNE PASHAN. ROTARY is an international service organisation (NGO) who aims to provide humanitarian service and to advance goodwill and peace around the world. This versatility and sensitivity is also reflected in her work. CREATRIX’s design approach is based on the ability to analyse the project on both, a holistic and detailed level to produce sustainable designs that sit comfortably within their culture , social, economic and urban contexts. Design philosophy in evolving architectural designs has placed emphasis on indigenous natural resources, in both an active and passive manner. Light plays a decisive role in our designs. To us, authentic material, sustainability, pure geometry, Proportion and nature are the essentials that make architecture. Words expressing feelings like Beauty , Joy, Inspiration, concept of Serenity and Tranquility, Silence, Solitude have nestled in our souls and though we are fully aware that we have not done them complete justice in our work, they have never ceased to be our guiding lights. We have worked and hope to continue to work inspired by the faith that the aesthetic truth of these ideas will in some measure contribute towards dignifying human existence. We have a sensitive thread towards humanitarian services, culture and sustainability, which we always try to apply in our work. We would feel encouraged and obliged to get acknowledgement from such a reputed organisation. This will definitely motivate us to work harder towards achieving a sustainable tomorrow.
