The Cafe is a representation of the brand Kumite 1 League which is a fight league and has 6 fight teams. The concept given by the owner of Cafe, Ali, was that a fight cage was essential. The Cafe is divided in 3 parts: entrance is the fight cage, a sunken enclosed AC section and the terrace.
The cafe is located on the Bay side facing the beautiful and breezy Arabian Sea in Versova, Andheri. At the entrance is a Peepal tree which is converted to a “wishing tree” with seating area in concrete around it. The tree is with 15 fish bowls and a hanging punching bag. The entrance is 16 feet high with a double door opening to the Cafe. On entrance to the cafe the Highlights that steal the show are the boxing glove lights hanging from the framed roof.
Once you enter you come across a 10 feet tall punching bag (customized) in the centre with 4 head gear lights on top. “Lights of the Cafe are customized and propped by Pameli to add character. Even though I wanted simple lights she insisted on custom lights which is her specialty” says Ali.
Climbing the stairs to terrace the feeling gets intense with the fight theme, but upstairs is a different scenario all over. It looks like the ideal K1l theme in white and red with black trusses and 3 rows of corrugated cement roofing. The painting of MC Marykom by Pameli seems enlightening the space. Overall, the space is vibrant and positive with peppy music, which can keep the adrenaline flow pumped up.
