With $43.3 bn investment in four years, Indian realty sector poised for growth | SURFACES REPORTER Realty Update

Real estate sector is poised for growth as overall investment between fiscal 2018 & 2022 stood at $43.3 bn, states CBRE South Asia report. An analysis by SURFACES REPORTER (SR).

Office Sector in prime focus

As per the report titled, 'Indian Real Estate: Betting on a Capital Future', the sector saw an investment of $43.3 of which $31.8 billion came from equity investments while debt investments stood at $11.5 billion.

The report suggests that office sector was the prime focus seeing investment mainly from foreign institutional investors which accounted to 40% or almost $13 bn of the total equity inflow. The sector showed positive attitude despite COVID-19 induced lockdown and global recession.

The report also suggests that office sector is closely followed by sites and land parcel where $12 billion was deployed, translating into a share of about 39 percent in cumulative equity investments during the 2018-22 financial years.
