Delta Faucet Company is a rising player when it comes to premium and luxury segments of the bath fittings market in India. Delta is known for its robust quality, unique innovations like the H2Okinetic, Temp2O® and Touch2Otechnologies and its leadership position in USA. It has now completed its 4th year of operations in India and SURFACES REPORTER® spoke to Ravi Nindwani, Managing Director, Delta Faucet Company India, to know what lies ahead in the New Year.

How has been the year 2016 for Delta? Please chalk out the brand’s major achievements.

Well, 2016 was another good year for Delta Faucet Company – both in the US as well as here in India. As our mother ship got even stronger in the US in terms of all key metrics viz. sales growth, profitability and exciting new products; we were able to execute well here in India too. We have grown by 35% and have expanded distribution and technical service to 95 points of sale across 40 cities. We also brought in innovative, India specific products like the square themed Filis™ and   Zura™ ranges under the Delta® brand, the innovative pendant showers with our patented H2Okinetic™ technology, new wall mount kitchen faucets and the very exciting Rook™ and Solna™ articulating range of products under the luxury brand Brizo®. The summary of our 2016 results is that all the new products that we got developed for India have exceeded forecast by as much as 48% and we were able to strengthen our team by bringing in quite a few experienced professionals who have a strong track record.

What is the current situation of the industry after Demonetization and how is it going to impact the future?

I think most brands are finishing 2016 at a level which will not be trail blazing growth, but still; reasonable growth. We expect demand to grow strongly in the popular segment, steady growth for the premium segment and a cautious return to growth in luxury segment after a couple of months.

Please elaborate your major focus areas in 2017-18? Also provide a glimpse of few of the major releases of the brand.

Our focus will continue to be on brand development among SEC A1 consumers and specifiers, selective distribution expansion and new design & finish offerings. We will be launching the Litze™ range (Brizo®), Luxe Gold™, Luxe Nickel™ and Wood Accent finishes and a couple of other big introductions for India.
