The constricted urban spaces have increased the demand for flat-pack designs in modern times. Not only the furniture but kitchens also are coming in flat-pack form. The best and the most recent example is Cucina Leggera. In Milan Design week 2018, the Cucina Leggera flat-pack kitchen won SaloneSatellite Award.
Designed by Stefano Carta Vasconcellos, Cucina Leggera is a kitchen block, which can be assembled through the interlocking of the seven elements that compose it, without the use of screws or hardware.

It is part of the CELER Furniture collection. The designer has ensured that the use of glue or nails to be minimal so that the unit remain neat and clean when assembled. The design represents the theme of sustainability.

The dimensions of the kitchen unit may vary depending on the needs of the customer. The Kitchen unit is extremely light, which is designed with a parametric approach, and thus assembling of shelves and countertop in it is as easy as pie. Also, it won’t take more than 15 minutes to put together the entire kitchen.

Ease of construction and assembly, compactness and financial accessibility are the main characteristics of the Cuccina Leggera Light Kitchen, leveraging the sort of design approach and vision that will continue to hold good for the future.
