The festival of lights- Diwali is one of the most famous festivals in India. The real attraction of the festival can be enjoyed in the night when all the houses are lit up with multi-coloured lights, candles, and earthen lamps. Not only the homes but the famous towers or buildings across the country decorated with beautiful electrical lights.
Not just the Indian houses or monuments were decked up in glittering lights on Diwali, even famous monuments across the country like Burj Khalifa and Empire State Building also get a Diwali makeover too. Several countries like Malaysia, Fiji, Mauritius, Guyana, Myanmar, Nepal, Suriname, Trinidad and Tobago, Sri Lanka and Suriname also have an official holiday on this day. Diwali is celebrated with as much fanfare in these countries as in India.
