Duravit Launches Smart Class Program for Rural Students of India

Action speaks louder than words, German sanitaryware brand Duravit is operating in Gujarat from last 10 years under our prime minister’s Make in India vision. This wholly-owned subsidiary of Duravit AG, Germany had announced the launch of Smart Class Program as part of its CSR initiative to drive the overall educational development in surrounding villages. On reality check, Duravit came to know the brand is doing some amazing work for the education development in Gujarat. 

Duravit has converted the third school under their smart class program at Shri. L. D. Patel Vidhyavihar, (MorajKelavaniMandal Trust), Village: Moraj, Taluka: Tarapur Over and above smart class brand is upgrading one more school named Tarapur Sarvajanik High School (TarapurKelavaniMandal), Village: Tarapur with basic facilities like drinking water and clean girls toilet.

Duravit has associated with YUVA Unstoppable, one of India’s leading NGO’s for the program, which will be boon for the students by influencing a technology-integrated learning model. Over and above smart class brand is upgrading drinking water and toilet facilities of school too.

Speaking at the occasion, Mr Asutosh Shah Managing Director of Duravit India conveyed that “Our mission is to covert 100 such schools as through our corporate social responsibility program. Our initiative “The Smart Class Program” will be benefiting the underprivileged children. Over the years technology has been revolutionized the world. Technology has also created amazing tools and resources. In this digitalized era, every child should be well versed with the latest technology.  With the increasing presence of technology in our lives, a technology integration model in the schools can make learning more fun and impactful." 

This the second school Duravit has converted in the last two year and it wishes to do 100 such schools.

During the inauguration Mr Sandeep Soni, General manager, Engineering & Administration stated "Basic education in the rural area is very essential. Our mission is to develop the primary & secondary schools in this region with basic infrastructure. Sanitation & good quality of drinking water should be compulsory for all schools to maintain the children's health & hygiene." 

In addition to this, Durovit is adding smart classes in every school. Such an initiative will become a gateway to connect the rural student to a global platform. Duravit India has not only equipped school with smart class but also revamped the entire school.

Following actions were undertaken at two schools in the initiative

  1. Shri. L. D. Patel Vidhyavihar, (Moraj Kelavani Mandal Trust), Village: Moraj, Taluka: Tarapur

Facilities provided by Duravit India:

  • Smart Class Room:  K Yan with White Board with new 25 Benches, Colour Work inside Room and four new fans.
  • Water Cooler & RO Plant - Blue Star make Water Cooler - 100 ltr. & R.O. - 100 ltr. Capacity, Overhead Shed (Roof)
  • Girls Toilet Colour Work and repairing
  • Boys Toilet Paver Block and  Colour Work

2. Tarapur Sarvajanik High School (Tarapur Kelavani Mandal), Village: Tarapur.

  • Water Cooler & RO Plant—Blue Star Water Cooler—100 ltr. & R.O.—100 ltr. Capacity, Overhead Shed (Roof)
  • Girls Toilet Colour Work and paver blocks
  • Boys Toilet  Colour Work and repairing
