The Red Dot Award-winning product design studio, Paul Studio, led by Paul Sandip and Suhasini Paul, has come up with a new product that can solve the delay of Coronavirus detection. The product called “Novel” is aimed to quickly segregate corona infected patients from the crowd.
Novel is a low cost contact-less IR Thermal Scanner. The designer wishes to fight the novel Coronavirus pandemic through it. The situation definitely demands such a product from the designers of India.
The affordable device can easily detect patients of the novel virus by just looking at the changing colour in the least amount of time. The colour of the LED indicator in the device changes according to the thermal state of the patient hence, ruling out the infected person form a crowd.
The Indian designer, Paul is an international award-winning industrial product designer, alumni of the prestigious National Institute of Design (NID), Electrical Engineer and a Cartoonist who re-defines everyday objects. He was awarded by the PM, Shri Narendra Modi in 2005 as a “Designpreneur”. Paul’s portfolio includes Home Automation, Consumer Electronics, IOT, Home and Kitchen Appliances, Electrical Accessories, Lighting, Medical and Diagnostic Devices, Housewares, Molded Furniture, Infant products, Plastic and Metal pens, Porcelain Objects & Stainless Steel Lifestyle Accessories.
The new electronics, NOVEL can be made available with circuit, software code and component details along with the 3D CAD data of the enclosure which can be 3D printed and assembled without screws for immediate deployment.
It is specifically designed and developed in response to the Corona Virus Pandemic. The Office of Development Commissioner, Delhi has taken interest and stepped forward to support the development of NOVEL.
