42mm Creates Multiple Yet Controlled Meeting Environments - New Office Space

The implications of COVID-19 on traditional office spaces are obvious and it can be seen in the new workplace designed by 42mm Architecture. The New Delhi-based firm has found new concepts of making the co-working space in a biophilic environment while maintaining a safe distance, which is the need of the hour.

There is a demand for large open offices post COVID as physical distancing and avoiding clusters along with the recognition of remote working or working from home are becoming the norm. Hence, now workspaces tend to shrink in terms of physical space, allowing fewer people at one point in time.

From this time forth, people will only come to offices for only when it is essential to interact with team members, or host meetings with clients, albeit, maintaining a safe distance. Hence, offices will now be equipped with multiple small meeting cabins with fewer workstations.

Beautiful Workplace Design

For that reason, 42mm Architecture has come up with a workplace design where it has created separate glass conference rooms to ensure seamless visual connectivity among the people while ensuring that the environments can be conditioned differently. It has been taken care of that there is no congestion in the reception and waiting area. As there will be a huge decline in the need for open work station areas, the more focus has been given on creating extravagant cabins.

The interiors are designed in a biophilic framework to create a celebratory mood, bringing in nature – suspended planter beds and moss wall features are not just ornamental, but act as natural purifiers.

Space is designed in a way that it will not only provide comfort to the employees but also improve their productivity. Materials like concrete, wood and metal are used in their natural form to show their inherent properties. And the colour palette of muted and earthy tones of greys, browns and crimson goes in perfect harmony with the biophilic mood.

So even as the concept of office spaces changes, they will become experiential work environments that can host multiple, yet controlled interactions.
