Whattay Kitchen and Brew, is a dining experience nestled in nature. It is a space whose definitions are shaped from the learning’s of the existing natural habitat at the site. The heavily contoured site with multiple fully grown trees formed the inspiration for the design of the 600 seater Lounge Bar.
The water body with multiple folds, so as to meander around the existing vegetation formed the central focus around which seating zones were designed. Seating was designed in stepped platforms, in accordance with the contours.

Nature is my Manifestation of God. I go to nature every day for inspiration in the day’s work. I follow in building the principles which nature has used in its domain. - Frank Lloyd Wright

An existing double height Paint Ball Shed was converted to an indoor double height dining area. A mezzanine was introduced to the metal structure, and an artistic endeavour to bring life to the worn down structure was undertaken.

A metal structure for a covered passage from kitchen to the various seating zones formed another focal point, with its multiple roof heights and carefully designed columns.

The architecture style adopted is Tropical Modernism, with a focus on design of open spaces, textures and materiality. Nature is my Manifestation of God. I go to nature every day for inspiration in the day’s work. I follow in building the principles which nature has used in its domain. - Frank Lloyd Wright

Materiality
Natural and locally available materials were used alongside brightly coloured patterns. Packaging wood, Moroccan pattern tiles, exposed concrete finish, distressed finish paints, form the core palette of materials.
