Barcelos, the restaurant chain is named after a quaint, vibrant Portuguese town famous for its culture, cuisine and the legend of the Barcelos rooster. The restaurant is an ecclectic ensemble of contemporary and Mediterranean styles. The location and layout of the site offered a chance to create an attractive façade and plan indoor and outdoor seating spaces.
The vibrant stained glass grid pattern on the façade grabs your attention even before entering the restaurant. A lively, green outdoor space welcomes you into the restaurant.

A pergola grid ceiling adorned with fairy lights and hanging planters, complemented with colorful outdoor furniture makes for a perfect spot for outdoor lunches for nearby office-goers. The fairy lights completely transform this space at sun-down making it an exquisite hangout joint for all demographics throughout the day.
As you step into the indoors, a warm but energetic colour palette greets you. The colours and patterns of the culturally diverse town of Barcelos find their way into this high-spirited restaurant design. Greens, yellows, blues—all reflect the temperament of the town’s streets.

A statement, live-edge community table paired with industrial hanging lights above constitutes the central zone. There is a blend of the inside and the outside with the stained glass windows bringing in a lot of natural light. The bar is planned in a way that it opens up to the ones seated outdoors as well and emulates its styling by the use of intricate tile grids on the bar front and the bar back.

The live kitchen can be set eyes on from the entire space and creates an engagement between the chefs and the guest and is visually tantalizing to the senses. It is stylized with curios, plants and quirky artwork.
A vintage and eclectic blend of furniture and accessories define the design language. The outdoor furniture was customised by Retyrement Plan which enlivens the restaurant. Columns and walls clad in green subway tiles mimic the grids of the façade and blend in naturally, making the space vibrant and welcoming. The community seating, the booth seating and the bar propound a casual, and youthful vibe that is balanced with other formal seating in the restaurant.
