There are few things that never go out of style. Same thing can be said for Robert Kolenik’s ‘Ocean’ Kitchen. It is created by positioning a worktop on top of an aquarium. This can be raised hydraulically with a simple push of a button. This unique kitchen is also highly functional. It may look like an oversized aquarium, but its ingenious L-shape also provides space for cabinets and equipment. There is also a state-of-the-art feeding system and an advanced filter system. This means that the aquarium only needs to be cleaned and stocked with food once a month.

Emerald Blue seamless kitchen with solid surface and birch plywood

The combination of these two elements, gives a very distinctive and stylish look to this Emerald Blue Kitchen. Designed by Clare Morton using LG Hi Mac solid surfaces, this was a renovation project where an eye-catching solid surface of emerald colour worktop was used with the birch plywood for panels, pegboards and drawers which are completely seamless eliminating any chance of microbes habitation.

The designer has ensured that the use of glue or nails to be minimal so that the unit remain neat and clean when assembled. The design represents the theme of sustainability.
