Architect Reza Mohtashami, based in Mashhad, has recently designed a splendid “Black Villa”- a contemporary family home in Harriman State Park, which is the second-largest state park in New York. Know more about this incredible “Black Villa” at SURFACES REPORTER (SR):
Location
Located in Rockland and Orange counties 30 miles north of New York City, this villa catches everyone’s attention with its beautiful structure and equally stunning interior designs along with several other features. There are around 31 lakes, public camping areas, multiple streams, and great vistas in this place. Also, this area is a tourist’s paradise with over 200 miles of hiking trails.
Reza visualized and designed this building with the collaboration of his design team Elham Daneshmandi and Reyhaneh Daneshmandi.
The Highlight of the Villa

The colour black is the one feature that attracts everyone. The Villa has a large open living space with an open glass ceiling that allows skylight to take up most of the living area. The glass ceiling confirms the open concept of the project with a lot of natural lighting that covers the entire sitting area.

Except for the centerpiece, the entire furnishings of the residence are in black. The centerpiece is made from light wood to break the monochromatic theme of all-black.
Magnificent Dining Area
There is a dining area behind the entertainment space. The dark wood dining table looks amazing with the rest house’s black them. Moreover, the beautiful curved shaped pendant lights above it give ample lighting to the entire area.

Just behind the dining space, you can notice a floor-to-ceiling glass window to allow dwellers to enjoy the meals while looking at the spectacular views of the green surroundings.
Spacious Bedrooms
Villa contains spacious and elegant bedrooms, which have amazing hardwood floors and ceilings. To give the plush look to the bedrooms, the beds are kept on a wooden platform.

One can notice various shades of black in the bedding as well as the headboard. There is a fireplace available in the master bedroom that is entirely made from stones.

The bathrooms are equally fancy as other areas of the home. One bathroom has a raw industrial kind of rough stoning work on a wall. The greyish black stone is used in the bathtub, which goes perfectly with the theme.

All the things in the villa, including floating wooden stairs behind the dining area, give it a luxurious and ultra-modern appeal.

Another eye-catching architectural component in the house is a little corridor space which has some antique art pieces.

In the outdoor part, you can see a superb pool. There is also enough sitting and lounge area to enjoy the poolside views.

This is one of the architectural gems created by architect Reza Mohtashami.
