The Globe Garden Chair Has Higher Seating Position for Improved Ergonomics | Peter Opsvik

Globe Garden Chair | Peter Opsvik | Ergonomic Chair | Beach Laminate

Maestro of the ergonomic Norwegian revolution- Peter Opsvik conceived the iconic seating design of this Globe Garden Chair.  This is a plant-alike chair embraced by comfy spherical-shaped fruits that balances the body into a proper and ergonomic position. Well, it is the new version of the old Garden chair designed by the designer 29 years ago, with supporting footrests. SURFACES REPORTER (SR) brings the detailed information about the unusual piece of furniture. Take a look:

The relaunched globe garden chair by Moment AB features a spectacular height of 1.7-meters that make it functional in offices and public spaces such as forums and meeting points, because the person sitting can both easily see and be seen in the crowd.

Comfortable Seating

Made from beech laminate, the chair breaks the stereotypical habits of the proper sitting posture by allowing the person to sit in various comfortable positions. It has round seats and a backrest that supports the upper body, with both side rests allowing the comfortable free-movement of the body.

“Our ancestors lived in the trees! When I designed the Garden in 1985 I wanted to show how the norms of ‘sitting nicely’ and ‘sitting correctly’ can be broken,” said Peter.

It is a perfect option of being used in offices and public places like gardens, airport meeting areas, etc. Apart from Globe Garden Chair, the globe concept consists of globe one, globe two and globe three chairs. All these chairs allow a nice seating position with free movement of the upper body part.
