We are deeply saddened to inform that architect Revathi S. Kamath who was the Co-founder of Kamath Design Studio New Delhi is no more with us. She was a pioneer of mud architecture in India. On the other hand, she is also credited with building the tallest stainless steel structure in India.
Save environment with mud, she would say.
Ar Revathi Kamath has dedicated her life to mud architecture and has made the world aware about the diversity, durability and dazzle of mud as a material. Revathi Kamath has been practicing with her husband, Vasant Kamath who passed away in the year 2019.
I had the opportunity to visit her studio when Ar Vasant Kamath was also there. I was astound by their passion for mud and the experiments she was doing tirelessly, working with natural materials to make them durable. She showed me through the studio cheerfully.
We have lost a wonderful architect who was so sensitive to sustainable architecture & materials.
You will be dearly missed Ar Ravathi Kamath and the great work that you have done will be forever remembered.
OM SHANTI!
