Originating from different regions of the world, Carpets have been a part of world heritage for long. The earliest known carpet dates back to 2nd or 3rd millennium BC. Hand-made Carpets were and still are one of the plushest ways to decorate your abode even after the advent of many modern flooring materials and products. And why just flooring? Now you can use your rug and carpet to decorate your walls and ceilings too. In the digital era, when the world is converted into a global village, the art of carpeting is travelling to faraway lands, with the designers mingling with the existing history to weave entirely new and never-before-seen designs. The 12th Carpet Design Awards, considered as one of the most precious felicitations for world carpeting industry was held at DOMOTEX 2017. Under the chairmanship of multi-award-winning carpet designer Stephanie Odegard from New York, the international jury selected carpets and rugs of outstanding design, quality and craftsmanship. Surfaces Reporter presents you an exclusive glimpse of the winning entries and the Jury’s verdict about them. Hope you will enjoy. Please write to us with your reviews at PRESS@SURFACES.IN
