Przemyslaw Olczyk of Mobius Architekci- the Polish Architecture firm- has recently designed a stunning circular home in Poland that is clad in Okume Wood and looks like a large cut tree trunk. This striking house is positioned in the large, sandy plot covered with the lush pine forest. It is designed in the thicket of a jungle for an art lover and collector who did not wish to hide away from the green surroundings enveloped by the Kampinos National Park but also wanted it to be an intimate space. Circle wood is a 400 sqm structure that does not look overwhelming in size because of the overhanging oval frame that encloses the garage and the open spa area in a harmonious circle. Created in a shape of a large tree stump, the house bathed in nature.
Every portion of the house, be its oval form, colour palette, material was wisely selected to blend well into its surrounding landscape while offering privacy to the dwellers.
"I thought of the house as a big piece of a tree trunk. Designing through reduction looked like hewing pockets of rooms and cosy, semi-private, glazed alcoves into the wood," said Przemek Olczyk from the Warsaw office of Przemek Olczyk Mobius Architekci.
"Consequently, users can feel as if they are continuously strolling through the trees. It is full of glazing that blurs the boundaries. The plot offers the freedom, or rather intimacy of communing with nature and architecture," added Przemek Olczyk.
Okume Wood Sourced From West Africa
The house clads in Okume wood that was sourced from West Africa. The choice of wood is also excellent as the exotic wood- knotless and classy- ideally merges the building into the pine forest.

Interiors Reminiscent to Private Art Gallery
It looks like a private art gallery from inside, sensitive to the beauty of nature.
Every element in the home was chosen to keep nature in mind to match the setting while creating a perfect harmony between the exteriors and interiors.
The central atrium of the house rises towards the sky and brings in ample sunlight and breathtaking forest views. Another noticeable element in the place is the ribbon-like, white, sculptural staircase which adds to its artistic aesthetic.
The direct touch with nature allows the house to change its appearance as per the surrounding weather, time of day and year.
