Founded by two young, caring mothers, Sanjana Bhajanka (SB) and Vidushie Shriya Kandoi (VSK), Kasa Privé specializes in transforming children’s rooms into enchanting wonderlands. Each space is thoughtfully designed with custom, made-to-measure creations that spark imagination and make every wall a canvas for dreams.
Journey: How did your journey begin, and what sparked your partnership?
SB: As a parent looking to create a unique space for my child, I struggled to find wallpaper that matched both my aesthetic and my child’s imaginative needs. This gap inspired me to start KasaPrive—a service offering bespoke wallpaper designed to cater to parents who seek personalized, high-quality, and creatively inspiring spaces. Our mission is to provide a seamless and enjoyable experience, from design to installation, ensuring that every child’s room reflects their personality and sparks their creativity. At KasaPrive, we are committed to delivering exceptional quality, making every space imaginative and heartwarming.
VSK: We offer a fully bespoke wallpaper design service exclusively for children. Whether it’s modifying one of our existing designs or creating something entirely new, we bring your vision to life. What sets us apart is our collaboration with clients throughout the design process. We tailor each design to meet specific requirements before printing and installing. For instance, one child wanted a custom car and their name on the wallpaper—we made that happen.

Design Process: What’s your approach to new projects? Do you involve children in the design phase, and how does that shape the outcome?
SB: Once we meet the client and understand their vision, we keep them involved throughout the entire design process. Sometimes, the children themselves get involved, sharing what colors or characters they love, and we incorporate that into the design. For example, one child wanted their name alongside a specific car in the wallpaper, and we brought that to life. In another case, a little girl requested her name on the ballerina dress for her custom wardrobe panel wallpaper.
VSK: We also focus on inclusivity. If a child wears glasses or has very curly hair, we add a character with similar features to make the wallpaper more relatable and comforting for them. This personal touch helps create a space where the child feels represented and at home.
Can you share some memorable moments from your design projects?
VSK: One memorable moment was when a casual doodle I made at a client’s home was unexpectedly approved as the design for their guest room and now sits proudly with a beautiful painting. We’ve also faced challenges, like applying wallpaper to wooden panels for the first time, which turned out so well it became one of our unique offerings. Along the way, we’ve learned to double-check every detail, and the positive feedback from kids and parents keeps us motivated to push our creative boundaries.
Future Plans: What’s next for KasaPrive? Any exciting new directions?
SB and VSK: Our goal is to become the leading bespoke luxury children’s wallpaper brand across India and then expand internationally. A big milestone for us would be showcasing our work at Salone del Mobile in Milan. It’s an exciting journey, and we’re looking forward to bringing our creativity to an even broader audience.
Color Choices: What influenced your subtle color palette? How do you think color affects children?
SB: Most of our designs use pastels and subtle colors, unless clients request otherwise. Today’s design trends lean toward elegance and luxury, with people gravitating toward soothing tones. Kids spend a lot of time in their rooms, and softer colors help create a calm, peaceful atmosphere, which is especially important for their mental well-being. Lighter colors also make smaller spaces feel more open and airy, which adds to the overall comfort and coziness of the room.

One should design spaces that inspire wonder and reflect a child’s personality, creating a sense of ownership and connection. Spaces should be both functional and inspiring, allowing kids to express themselves while offering comfort. Opt for calm, soothing colors to foster creativity and relaxation, as children spend much of their time in these environments.
Design Evolution: Was your expansion from kids’ wallpapers to other spaces an organic evolution? What inspired this change?
SB and VSK: The transition from designing exclusively for children’s spaces to incorporating adult spaces was a natural evolution for us. It began with requests from our existing clients, who, after experiencing the quality, creativity, and attention to detail in our children’s wallpapers, wanted the same level of personalization for other areas of their homes. They trusted us to deliver unique designs that not only cater to their aesthetic preferences but also bring a fresh, imaginative touch to adult spaces.
