Meet Megha Jalota

Megha Jalota, professionally an architect or interior contractor, lives a balanced life and applies ethical principles to make a significant difference!

She has had more than 12 years of experience in the architecture industry. Megha Jalota primarily bothers about her motherhood, since it keeps her in humility. It also helps her define her processes professionally; where the mind is without fear and the head is held high. The sense of self and an inner strength aids to stand up on her feet and face the world.

Years back, she had a troubled and rebellious childhood which was fairly common with children coming from a small town thinking about people and dealing with the narrow judgmental norms of the society? Fortunately, she found design education as her wings of freedom and a sense of fulfilment in creativity.

But unfortunately, 8 years ago there came a tyrant phase in her life. it had lessons to teach her and so it did. Whether it was dealing with alcoholism, domestic violence, breaking the law and everything else; life was an ordeal. It transformed her in more ways than one.

The Poetic Justice

Reading up on her past makes it absolutely clear that Megha has had a hard life and her childhood didn’t help improve the situation either but life usually has a way of leveling out, ultimately.

So, the positive finally occurred and her only poetic justice out of this sojourn was the birth of her daughter.

It made her practice her profession which she thought to hold like a life support at that time. She came to realize that the reason women suffer at the hands of people like her husband was all because ‘parenting’ is considered a default trait, whereas it needs to be learnt and developed and a citizen of the world should never be taken for granted.

So, she finally took charge to get rid of such a sick man who was always either drugged or promiscuous. She walked out on that relationship two years back with a suitcase and a child cutely holding her finger. Was she hurt? Of course! But was she sorry? Definitely not!

A Newfound Hope

She had a new hope in her eyes, and decided to create a new life for myself and her daughter.

She knew very well that it isn’t going to be a piece of cake for her and still, she knew that she could do this. This is the level of self-confidence that can probably make every problem easier to surpass and all troubles wither away.

By overcoming her grief, she found that every sunset has so many colors within in, merging beautifully drop by drop. Keeping this in mind, she just held on to all of those colors before it got all dark.

Her main focus became growth, she started setting up her own ecosystem of people that she could trust. Her education and work proved to be her biggest support at that time and has given her the mental strength to keep going on, ever since.

The Pandemic Aftermath

Now, let's talk about the year that shook the life of each and every individual out there. The year 2020 proved to be a milestone year in her life.

She adds,“It gave me a new direction and a newfound strength in every way.”

During the lockdown was the time that she got the mental space to sit back and take a look at her life from a clearer and calmer perspective. She realized the need to set up her own home and space to claim her own mental space and build her own nest thread by thread.

She realized that she needed to be the voice for many more women out there- She wants to tell them that the keys to their life are in their own hands.

“Just go ahead and unlock that door!” She suggests.

Everyone can create his/ her own story to share. What matters is that we can learn from such a story and implement those lessons in lives. What do you want your story to look like? It’s entirely your choice! So, don't just count your limitations but instead, focus on possibilities. Just think. If she can withstand and survive in such a devastating period, why can't you and take the first step towards acceptance, love and respect- make a move for yourself!
