Launched in the line with Madrid Design Festival 2021, this beautiful smile stool table encourages everyone to smile and explore the changes to work, home life and creative process during the Covid-19 pandemic. Made of Amercian Cherry Wood, the smile stool contains ‘two eyes’ on its seat which are joints where the legs connect. These are formed by traditional expressed-through tenon joints. While the cut-out mouth in smiley shape serves as a carrying handle.
The durability and careful designing of the structure keeps it stand apart. The gracious look of the table combined with smooth, rounded forms and a curved underside makes it welcoming.
Hayon is known for his playful designs. He said "We must all remember to Smile — it makes us happier, healthier and more hopeful.”
Red List Free
The stool is classified Red List Free- meaning it is free of any toxics or hazardous chemicals- and it also carries Declare labelling, which is an internationally recognised ingredients list for products that shows where it comes from, what it is made of and where it goes at the end of its life.

Smile Stool is a demonstrably sustainable furniture piece designed in the UK. It is not only carbon neutral but also carbon negative, storing more carbon in its timber than is released through the manufacturing process. Life Cycle Analysis (LCA) of the piece says that it has carbon footprint of (1.97 kg CO2 equivalent), which shows that it is carbon negative.
