Completed in 2020, this minimal, stylish office - The Expand Loft- is designed by Shivani Ajmera & Disha Bhavsar of Quirk Studio for a corporate event management company in Mumbai. The client wanted a fun, welcoming, and vibrant environment for its employees that fosters interaction and collaboration along with facilitating a natural flow of movement. The 14 feet high ceilings in the office imbue the feeling of a wide, open space while the floor-to-ceiling windows offer panoramic views of the city, bringing ample sunlight into the spaces. Additionally, cement-finished surfaces, bold pops of colour, arched geometry, focal light fixtures & an intriguing play of materials in various forms create the nuanced design palette at the office. Modern Industrial Look

The design identity of the space is centered around the industrial style which is interspersed with bold hues of yellow, green & red tones that create a welcome contrast against the overall neutral base - the result is an ingenious workspace with an impactful visual narrative.

A sunny yellow is used in the interiors of the space which highlights the company’s logo as it is the main color used in their logo and branding. While the bright pops of red and green with a neutral colour palette paves the way for an industrial aesthetic.

 A Functional, Flexible and Free-Flowing Layout

In terms of its spatial configuration, the office has been designed in the shell of the built floor to offer its inhabitants a functional, free-flowing & pragmatic layout of zones. The designated private cabins have been allocated peripheral positions in the layout.

Services & community spaces like the open pantry and cafeteria have been flanked to one side of the layout.

The open zone in the office also anchors the large hot desk section, booth seating & a semi-formal arrangement for lounging using statement furniture, and a quaint swing; conjuring a space that acts as a nucleus for conversation & rejuvenation.

A community table, patterned floor tiles, quirky bar stools & a thematic light box with the phrase - ‘feed your dreams’ are the pivotal design highlights of the space.
