When Vinithra Amarnathan, Founder and Principal Designer of Weespaces, met young couple Arun and Daniela, she was clear that they desired fun and vibrant home that exudes some modern industrial loft life feel. Designed during the pandemic, this 3,200 sq ft home in Hyderabad features an edgy industrial palette of frames and textured concrete which is softened with organic textures such as timber decor and exposed bricks. This was the first home of the young couple, who met in Spain, in India after their marriage that aptly embodies their love for Spanish art prints and vibrant colours. The entire home is designed with open-concept floor plans. It is a nice blend of balance and contrasts. Grand lighting fixtures and statement furniture accentuate the voluminous spaces, for instance, a distressed turquoise sideboard demarcates spaces in the living and dining area.
The design team used a pop of vibrant colors on the cool grey and white shell to give it much-needed warmth.
Inviting Entryway
The long and slim entryway gives a view of several sections of the home.
While its gallery wall features the couple’s fond travel memories. A black metal console placed below the gallery wall is another highlight of the space. Further, a bright-coloured rug on the floor in the entryway also catches attention.
Formal Living Room As Home Office
The designer reimagined the formal living room as the home office.
A light and airy material palette of natural wood, concrete, metal, and glass has been used in the space. Muted Mediterranean tones with soft furnishings and handmade art from Antiques give a unique charm to the living area.
Spanish-Vibes in The Kitchen
Exposed brick walls continue to the dining area and open kitchen.
Bold blue and white tiles, giving an appearance of Spanish tiles, with deep-teal cabinetry underscores the kitchen.

Striking Dining Area
The dining area features a bold, distressed turquoise cabinet that also works as a sofa table and storage.
Faux leather chairs are placed near the dining table. The area is brightened up with brass pendant lights suspended along with a rustic timber log, making a striking visual appeal against the brick-lined wall.
Fluted Walls in the Master Bedroom
The Master bedroom is the most private space in the apartment that has a fluted black wall covering three-quarters of the way with a contrasting white on the top. This visually increases the size of the room and adds height. The addition of big comfortable fully upholstered floor bed softens the edginess of the white and bold black.
A beautiful gray, black and green-hued rug sits peacefully below the bespoke bed. While an oversized corner chandelier in black metal and glass hanging above the floor bed gives it a dramatic appeal.
Industrial touch is added by keeping a media console that doubles up as Daniela’s vanity, an oversized mirror, and rustic wooden side tables.
A distressed plaster all with exposed bricks adds to the industrial feel.
Cosy Lounge
The comfortable lounge area is outsized with vintage brass, a wood media console, an ivory rug, a graceful bamboo pendant, and a teal velvet that offers a relaxed and chill-out space for entertainment and friendly conversations. The firm has continued the red brick onto the opposite wall and created a distressed plaster wall to hone in on the urban industrial feel.
The minimalist theme is followed in the balcony. The ceiling features wooden beams and wicker furniture and embellishments contributes visual elegance also add aural warmth.
Master Bathroom
The master bathroom boasts distressed teal tile with hints of copper from floor to ceiling and a recycled wood tile highlights the back of the mirror wall.
Using the same tile all through the floor and ceiling makes this bathroom feel so spacious.
Tone on Tone Home Theater
The home theater showcases a mural of a scene from The Fight Club which was one of the favorite movies of the client. The mural acts as a beautiful bold backdrop for the tone-on-tone home theater room.
The room features furniture pieces such as a large oversized sleeper sectional in navy velvet, a distinct rug, an arc lamp, and a bold orange ottoman. The striking feature here is the custom-made 10ft long mesh door media console. “Framed with a solid teak wood top and custom mesh doors this console is one of our many custom designed furniture pieces in the home!” said the designer.

Guest Bedroom
Beautiful plaster finish, teak-veneer wrapped custom wardrobes, and flooring with some colour pops all around give nice appeal to the guest bedroom.
A sleek light gray upholstered bed, simple glass, and metal bedside tables, and modern swing arm sconces create a chic modern space. A bold rug and an upholstered armchair in Daniela’s favorite color turquoise bring in a pop of color.
