A young couple approached Sachid, the founder and principal architect of Space_Agency to conceptualize the interiors of their first home on the topmost floor of a tower overlooking the picturesque Hosa Lake in Sarjapur, South Bangalore. Styled with an abundance of tropical plants, soft lighting and woven fabric and non-fabric elements, the 1500 square feet apartment makes for a perfectly serene abode in a scenic natural setting. The firm has shared how they realised this green and light-filled home in detail. Take a look:

Well-Lit Living and Dining Areas
Elements of wood and brass continue into the living and dining areas and neutral fabrics complement the natural light pouring into the space.
These features add a touch of luxury, in keeping with the clients' love for hospitality.
Incorporation of Tropical Elements
“We started by knocking down the walls between two rooms to create a larger Master Bedroom suite.”It was realised by fusing tropical elements of craft (rattan, wood, brass, etc) with modern details.
The wardrobes are functional as a backdrop to the space with fluted teak wood shutters and open shelves in rattan backing.
The bed is backed by an oversized hand-drawn tropical print wallpaper from Kalakaari Haath contrasting with a bright suede headboard. A reading nook featuring an armchair by Magari on the opposite end of the room completes the lounge area.
A custom full-height workspace and shelving unit in metal millwork visually blend the space, while separating work from leisure.

Contrasting Blue Against the Neutral Backdrop
The kitchen, built for maximum utility in a limited space, is designed in a shade of blue that stands out against the backdrop of warm, neutral tones in the living and dining spaces.
The shade of blue in the kitchen gives a jolt of energy to the neutral palette of this apartment.
