Bengaluru Is All Set to Get Its First IKEA Store On June 22 | SR News Update

IKEA India (part of the Ingka Group), the global Swedish home furnishings retailer is all set to open its first Bengaluru store at Nagasandra on June 22, 2022. Spread over an area of 460,000 sq ft, the store comprises 7,000 well-designed home furnishings. The large-scale furniture store will be connected to the Nagasandra metro station, which offers an easy and comfortable commute for the buyers. The development of this store started after the consent of Karnataka's Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai who met with the CEO of Ingka, Jesper Brodin, at the World Economic Forum meeting in Davos, Switzerland, where they had talked about the launching of the store.

One-Stop Destination For Furnishings

The inaugural event of the store launch will be held at Nagasandra on June 22 where both Brodin and Bommai are expected to reach. It is also mentioned in the release that Anje Heim will be the Market Manager for the Karnataka market.

“IKEA aims to offer home furnishing solutions that match the aspirations and dreams of the many people of Bengaluru for a better everyday life. IKEA Nagasandra will serve as a one-stop destination for all your home furnishing requirements,” says Heim.

Sprawling over 12.2 acres of land, the IKEA Naasandra store covers an area of 4,60,000 square feet. The store will be a hub of more than 7,000 premium quality, affordable, eco-friendly, and nicely designed furniture, as per the statement.

The store will contain everything for your home. Apart from the best furnishings, you will get various services like a personal shopper, remote planning, and click & collect to offer a wholesome shopping experience

Kid-Friendly Store

The store is said to be kid-friendly as it will contain a large play area for children named 'area 'Småland'

Further, a 1,000-seater restaurant will also be open inside the store, along with a bistro serving a combination of Swedish and Indian delicacies. 

Ikea started its online business venture in Bengaluru with a shopping site and an app in 2021. The company plans to continue its expansion journey all over India with an omnichannel approach, giving people more options with both online and offline formats.
