Vami Kotecha, Partner Director at sP+a, completed her graduate studies at the Kamla Raheja Vidyanidhi Institute for Architecture in Mumbai in 2008. With over 15 years of experience, she has played a pivotal role in designing and executing some of the studio’s most celebrated projects. Her expertise extends from initial design conception through to site execution, significantly contributing to the success of numerous iconic projects.

Among her notable achievements is the Maya Somaiya Library, which earned the distinction of being the first Indian building to receive ArchDaily's Building of the Year award. Additionally, her work on the UDAAN low-income housing project was honored with a HUDCO National Prize, and Jetavan received a citation at The Merit List awards in Goa. Kotecha also led a team of over 10 architects and 50 students to create a kinetic installation for the State of Architecture Exhibition by Rahul Mehrotra at the NGMA in Mumbai. Her current projects include a boutique hotel with 20 keys in Goa, a cricket club in Chennai, and the interiors of an urban hotel in Mumbai.
The studio's philosophy, under Kotecha's leadership, emphasizes the need to engage with India’s diverse socio-cultural environments through adaptable approaches. They view Type, Program, Design, and Building processes as integral to addressing each project’s unique context. By integrating traditional techniques with evolving methodologies, sP+a challenges static preservation and instead advocates for the evolution of craft and tradition within contemporary socio-economic frameworks. This hybrid approach combines research, collaboration, and collective methodologies, enabling a nuanced response to local specifics through a lens of extreme subjectivity.

• Hampi Art Labs: Located in Vijayanagar, Karnataka, this 5-acre site draws inspiration from the landscape of the Tungabhadra River. It features a central 'space of flows' surrounded by hills with various amenities, designed to inspire both visitors and artists.
• Suryam House: This project reflects a transition towards a luxury real estate brand while embodying values of trust and happiness.
• Creo: Situated within a Victorian Gothic building, Creo explores Mumbai’s indigenous human skills and mechanical resources, aiming to incorporate these into its construction

THE WADE ASIA created a world record by contributing to water initiative and creating the largest W human-shape on ground in record time which was awarded ASIA BOOK OF RECORDS medal, a testament to its outstanding contribution to the industry.
It was also awarded "The Unique Show" by the Exhibition Excellence Awards 2022 in partnership with UFI (global association for exhibition excellence).
