Foster + Partners has unveiled designs for a 54-storey, 1,032-foot supertall skyscraper in Miami's Brickell neighborhood, set to house the relocated headquarters of hedge fund Citadel. Read more on SURFACES REPORTER (SR):
Philadelphia-based Gattuso Development Partners is developing a skyscraper in Miami as part of a larger project featuring offices, hotels, and retail. Located near the Miami South Channel, the Foster + Partners-designed skyscraper will offer 34 floors of office space and 212 hotel rooms across its upper floors.
Tapered Tower
The design features a tapered tower with rounded corners that culminates in a flat, rectangular cap extending outward. Clad in white with thin horizontal louvres, the skyscraper reflects Florida's architectural vernacular.
Set to house Citadel’s headquarters, the tower's form enhances structural efficiency and provides an elegant addition to the Miami skyline, according to Nigel Dancey of Foster + Partners. The environmentally responsive facade includes a louvred shading system to optimize internal comfort and views.
Citadel, which relocated its headquarters to Miami from Chicago in 2022, will be the anchor tenant of the new skyscraper. The building’s "column-free" office space is designed to foster employee collaboration.
Extensive Amenities
The building will include conference spaces, a ballroom, a pool, fitness facilities, and a spa. Renderings show tiered planting beds at the base, with Field Operations designing the streetscape and ground-level restaurants. A public walking path will connect the building to the waterfront. Citadel expects the project to break ground in 2025, aiming to redefine Miami’s skyline and enhance the city’s global appeal.
They are excited to work with partners, officials, and stakeholders to revitalize the Brickell Baywalk for Miamians and visitors.
