An organic retreat that exemplifies the beauty of natural materials by Ar Mahesh Naik

The house embodies organic architecture that harmonizes with the mountain, sunrise, and moon through a triskelion design, optimizing views while adapting to the site and climate. The unique triskelion geometry, tailored to the context and climate, is complemented by a minimal natural material palette.

Utilizing black basalt stone, earth red bricks, and a black china mosaic roof, the design strikes a balance between sophistication and rustic charm. Kota stone flooring with a black china mosaic border defines spaces, and a vibrant yellow Jaisalmer stone highlights the central staircase. The pavilion on the deck provides both shelter and panoramic views of Matheran. A cantilevered sloping roof shields the structure from weather variations. Additionally, 2000 trees were planted during construction to enhance green cover, featuring low-maintenance indigenous plants chosen for their medicinal properties.
