Indian Government Imposes Anti-Dumping Duty on Chinese Acrylic Surfaces for Five Years

The affected product includes various forms of Acrylic Solid Surfaces, such as: 100% Acrylic Solid Surfaces Corian Sheets PMMA-based Montelli Sheets Hi-Macs Acrylic Sheets Krion Methyl Methacrylic Resin Sheets reports SURFACES REPORTER (SR).

The Indian government has imposed an anti-dumping duty of up to USD 0.18/kg on imports of acrylic solid surfaces from China for a period of five years. The decision, announced by the Ministry of Finance under Notification No. 07/2025-Customs (ADD) dated March 25, 2025, comes after an investigation by the Directorate General of Trade Remedies (DGTR) found that these products were being dumped into India at unfairly low prices, harming domestic manufacturers.

The duty applies to various types of acrylic solid surfaces, including:

  • 100% Acrylic Solid Surfaces
  • Corian Sheets
  • PMMA-based Montelli Sheets
  • Hi-Macs Acrylic Sheets
  • Krion Methyl Methacrylic Resin Sheets
     

Exemptions: The notification excludes pure acrylic sheets, acrylic laminates for wrapping, polyester solid surfaces, and modified acrylic surfaces.
