Flos Revamps Bon Jour Unplugged for 10th Anniversary

Philippe Starck’s iconic portable lamp returns with new colours, advanced LED tech, and wireless charging, reports SURFACES REPORTER (SR).

To mark 10 years since its launch, Italian lighting brand Flos has released an updated edition of Bon Jour Unplugged, the iconic portable LED lamp designed by Philippe Starck. Originally introduced in 2015, the rechargeable table lamp set a new standard in cordless lighting with its sleek design, modularity, and portability.

The 2025 anniversary edition brings several design and tech upgrades. A new colour palette—developed in collaboration with Starck - features soft tones like Almost White, Faded Blue, and Fresh Mint, along with bolder options such as French Rose and Black Chrome. Classic finishes like Copper and Chrome are also retained. The lamp’s distinctive transparent crown is now included as a standard feature.

The updated Bon Jour Unplugged also incorporates Color Tune LED technology, allowing users to adjust the light temperature from 2200K (warm white) to 3000K (cooler white) using a touch-sensitive optical sensor. Brightness can be fine-tuned across four levels: 3%, 30%, 70%, and 100%, making the lamp suitable for both ambient and task lighting.

Power comes from a rechargeable lithium-ion battery, providing up to 6 hours of cordless use. The lamp now supports both USB-C and Qi wireless charging, offering more flexibility and convenience.

Personalisation remains key, with interchangeable diffusers - Amber, Fumée, Fabric, and Rattan - still available to adapt both the look and lighting mood.

With enhanced performance and a refreshed design, Flos’s new Bon Jour Unplugged blends timeless aesthetics with smart innovation - remaining true to Starck’s vision of a "hopeful companion" for modern living.
