At THE WADE ASIA, India’s top architecture event and the largest platform for women in design, Mr. Saurabh Bansal, Joint Managing Director of Dorset, emphasized the company’s unwavering focus on innovation - not just in products or technology, but across manufacturing, sustainability, and digital transformation. One of the highlights of Mr. Bansal’s address was ‘Afflux’, a pioneering technology that allows users to select any mechanical door handle from Dorset’s catalogue and convert it into a smart electronic lock. “It’s a perfect fusion of tradition and future-ready security,” he said.
Another breakthrough featured was ‘Minimalistic Mute’ - a magnetic, noiseless, and flush door handle system designed for a seamless surface experience with no protruding hardware, aligning with the minimalist design trend.
Sustainability at the Core:
Mr. Bansal also shed light on Dorset’s sustainable manufacturing practices. As South Asia’s largest manufacturer in its category, Dorset has invested in an in-house PVD (Physical Vapor Deposition) plant. This move not only reduces reliance on imports but significantly cuts down the company’s carbon footprint.
White Paper & POD Concept:
Further reinforcing its commitment to innovation and industry leadership, Dorset has launched a comprehensive white paper on door hardware, developed in collaboration with architects and real estate experts. “It’s a practical guide aimed at optimizing cost, time, and long-term maintenance in construction projects,” Mr. Bansal added.
Additionally, Dorset is rolling out a nationwide Point of Display (POD) concept - a new retail experience open every 100 kilometers across major cities, making access to smart hardware solutions easier and more interactive.
