Designed as a spatial and material climax, the staircase is a tactile testament to the 25hours Hotel Bikini Berlin’s theme of contrast, where raw and refined, urban and organic, playful and poetic blend seamlessly. Crafted with hand-laid natural brick, a material rooted in Berlin’s industrial memory, the staircase walls bring a sense of weight and grounding. In dialogue with the brick is upcycled cork flooring that echoes the hotel’s commitment to regenerative practices while providing acoustic comfort.

Suspended above the stairwell, a 4m-long custom kilim-inspired rug is repurposed as a light fixture that offers soft glow. Materials such as rattan, upcycled cork, mirrored surfaces, and innovative textiles by JAB create a dynamic interplay of textures and reflections.

Each suite incorporates a circular wooden library capsule, the Conversation Pit, offering a natural, cozy retreat. Spaces like the Brick Lounge feature hand-laid natural brick walls, offering a co-working and reading space, while the Rattan Jungle introduces sculptural seating and hammock zones wrapped in greenery. The Nomad Bar transitions from a daytime bakery to a lively aperitivo bar, courtesy of the rotating shelf panels.

The Bikini Lounge, developed in collaboration with MOROSO, uses flexible sofa landscapes for work, relaxation and socializing.

In the bathrooms, updated tiles lend a fresh, contemporary look, while warm-toned lighting from integrated mirror fixtures enhances the soft ambience. A standout feature is the upcycled bathroom fittings, in collaboration with Kaldewei, where original bathtubs and shower trays were technically and visually refined and reinstalled, thus marking the company’s first circular design initiative.
