Founder of luxury wallpaper Kasa Prive, Sanjana Bhajanka is also a leading voice on parenting. Find out more...

Sanjana Bhajanka, Founder of Kasa Privé and India’s first certified baby planner, continues to merge design thinking with everyday life, bringing warmth, humor, and realism into both her spaces and her stories.

Sanjana Bhajanka has steadily built a creative identity that transcends traditional boundaries. As co-founder of Kasa Privé, a Kolkata-based design brand known for its bespoke wallpapers and personalized interiors, she has brought a new sensitivity to children’s spaces. Alongside partner Vidushie Shriya Kandoi, she has developed a practice that treats interior design as an emotional experience - one that tells stories, celebrates individuality, and nurtures imagination.

Kasa Privé’s bespoke wallpapers stand out for their personal, story-driven approach. Each design is custom-made to reflect a child’s personality - incorporating names, favourite motifs, and even inclusive details like curly hair or glasses. These are not off-the-shelf products but creative narratives printed on walls, transforming rooms into immersive, imaginative worlds. Guided by the brand’s philosophy of quiet luxury - elegance that whispers, not shouts - every wallpaper becomes a work of art that celebrates individuality, emotion, and belonging. By merging Sanjana’s parenting insight with her design sensibility, Kasa Privé bridges luxury and intimacy, proving that design, at its best, is both personal and purposeful.

Every project at Kasa Privé begins with a story - one that reflects the personalities and memories of the people who inhabit the space. Sanjana and her team collaborate closely with families and skilled artisans to translate those narratives into visual form, balancing imagination with harmony and craft with emotion. The result is more than décor; it’s an experience - walls that feel alive, carrying the poetry of everyday life. Whether it’s a child’s world of wonder or a refined contemporary home, each creation captures a moment, a mood, and a memory - a timeless reflection of the brand’s belief that true luxury is deeply personal.

Sanjana’s journey began long before Kasa Privé. As India’s first certified baby planner, she worked closely with expecting and new parents, offering guidance that was both practical and emotional. This experience helped her understand family life beyond its surface, shaping her approach to design and inspiring her next creative venture - writing.

Her debut book, Parenting Unplugged, brings this understanding to life in a refreshingly candid way. It presents a humorous and honest take on the realities of raising children, contrasting social-media perfection with the everyday messiness that most parents know all too well. As Sanjana reflects:

“So when I started writing this book, I thought I was going to write about my parenting journey. But as I went deeper, I realised it’s all the same - every parent’s story overlaps in some way. The motive of this book is to help everyone see that parenting is perfectly imperfect, and that we all go through the same chaos. It’s written with a lot of love and laughter - my little love letter to every parent out there - to remind you that you’re not alone in this journey. We all face the same mess, and we’re not raising perfect children; in today’s world, we’re raising real ones.”

This philosophy mirrors her approach to design: spaces and stories that embrace authenticity over perfection.

Parenting Unplugged was launched at THE WADE ASIA 2025, held at Yashobhoomi, New Delhi, one of India’s largest platforms celebrating women in architecture and design. The launch, graced by Dr. Kiran Bedi, former Lieutenant Governor of Puducherry (2016–2021) and one of India’s most distinguished former IPS officers, along with Verticaa Dvivedi, Founder of THE WADE ASIA, stood out as one of the memorable highlights of the event dedicated to women shaping industries through creativity and conviction. In many ways, Parenting Unplugged echoed the spirit of THE WADE ASIA - authentic, courageous, and deeply human - a reminder that design, like parenting, is most powerful when it’s personal.

Sanjana Bhajanka’s story is a testament to the idea that creativity isn’t confined to a single medium. Whether through designing spaces that feel like home, guiding new parents with empathy, or writing about the beautiful chaos of raising children, she reminds us that the most meaningful work is rooted in realness, connection, and love.

In a world that often demands perfection, Sanjana’s journey invites us to celebrate the imperfect - the messy, the funny, and the deeply human. For those inspired by her fusion of design, storytelling, and authenticity, the upcoming MATECIA EAST 2026 in Kolkata promises to be a vibrant platform for similar creative conversations, bringing together innovators and thinkers in architecture, design, and beyond.
