Windows-as-Wall Concept by Alumil in Project One Meraki Mumbai | SURFACES REPORTER

Alumil India’s ultra-slim aluminium systems enable One Meraki’s bold windows-as-walls design, redefining Mumbai’s high-rise minimalism and performance, SURFACES REPORTER (SR) reports.

Alumil India, the fully-owned Indian subsidiary of Alumil Group – one of the global pioneers in designing and manufacturing of high-quality architectural aluminium systems, has engineered cutting-edge, premium aluminium systems for One Meraki – Mumbai’s pioneering beamless residential towers in Chembur. The state of the art project, featuring five 19-story structures, leverages Alumil’s minimalist aluminium systems to realize an audacious ‘windows-as-walls’ architectural vision while conquering Mumbai’s monsoons and extreme heat. The project features customised large-format windows, integrated railings, ventilator panels and mesh systems engineered by Alumil to suit the high-rise environment’s unique demands.“Alumil enabled our vision for a beamless, flat-slab structure by providing large, effortless sliding windows that create a panoramic, glass-wall effect. Their three meter windows, with slender sections and integrated railings, offer uninterrupted views and flood spaces with light. The quality, from the powder coating to the smooth operation, is exceptional. The integrated railing system preserved the purity of the façade; the professional project management and timely delivery were crucial. The result is a seamless indoor-outdoor experience that our customers truly love. Alumil proved to be the ideal partner for achieving our architectural vision,” says Piyush Solanki, Principal Architect, P R Consultants.

The towers stand out for their unique beamless structural design and floor-to-ceiling glass windows, which offer a seamless blend of minimalism, performance and sustainability. Featuring Alumil’s series M12500, M940, and M900, these advanced aluminium systems ensure expansive window spans that flood the interiors with natural light while maintaining sleek aesthetics and enhanced durability.“The collaboration between One Meraki and Alumil India not only elevated the project’s design language but also set a benchmark in sustainable urban development. One Meraki is a testament to how design innovation, structural creativity and engineering precision can come together to redefine urban residential spaces. With its successful role in this landmark project, Alumil India continues to build on its reputation as a preferred aluminium systems partner for India’s most ambitious developments,” says Mr Theodoros Axouristos, Managing Director, Alumil India.

Alumil’s ultra-slim windows deliver unobstructed views and maximum natural light, complementing the minimalist, beamless design of the towers while maintaining the required structural integrity. The advanced glazing systems offer excellent insulation, reducing heat gain on southern façades and preventing heat loss on northern sides that are critical for energy-efficient climate control. With Mumbai’s intense monsoons and humid climate, Alumil’s systems provide exceptional airtightness and water resistance, protecting residents from harsh weather while ensuring long-term durability.
