A Mosaic Of Stone, Wood, And Colour

Material becomes the language of harmony in The Mosaic House by Design ni Dukaan. The 2,200 sq ft Dadar residence unfolds as a layered composition of stone, marble, wood, metal, and colour. Each surface is selected to reflect the temperament of the family members while sustaining a coherent visual rhythm.

At the entrance, a mosaic crafted from remnants of stones sourced from across the home embodies this approach - a soulful collage set against cerulean blue that establishes the material narrative within. The living areas embrace softness through gentle gradients and dark-toned accents, while the flooring emerges as the project’s unifying element: neutral, fluid, and intuitively zoning spaces through subtle tonal shifts. Marble assumes spiritual gravitas in the temple, where an abstract sculpture of Shrinathji blesses the family.
Carlo Scarpa–inspired stepped platforms in marble hold miniature idols as they meet deep blue planes. Art Deco influences surface through stone inlays, sculptural furniture, and warm metallic accents. In the kitchen, an olive-green wrapping transforms the space into a tactile social core.

The bedrooms extend this dialogue with textured fabrics, brass detailing, sculptural lighting, and expressive stone inserts -- most notably kesariyaji green marble, which anchors the youngest member’s room.
