Some rugs sit beneath a space. Cherom Carpets’ AURA becomes part of it. The collection explores the quiet beauty of movement, erosion and irregularity found in nature, drawing directly from landscapes shaped by water, sediment and time, then translating those organic formations into fluid, contemporary surfaces. Know more about it on SURFACES REPORTER (SR).
Crafted in Contrast, Shaped by Nature
Rather than treating the rug as a simple functional layer, AURA approaches it as a piece of art in its own right. Hand-tufted in New Zealand wool and viscose, each carpet uses contrasting matte and lustrous yarns to create a sense of depth that shifts with light and viewing angle. Subtle variations in pile and texture add further movement to the surface, echoing the organic irregularity of eroded landscapes rather than a fixed, repeating pattern.
USP:
- Design inspired by natural erosion, landscapes shaped by water, sediment and time
- Fluid, organic compositions that avoid rigid or repetitive patterning
- Hand-tufted using premium New Zealand wool and viscose for a luxurious, tactile finish
- Contrasting matte and lustrous yarns create visual depth and dimension
- Subtle shifts in pile and texture add movement and tactile richness to the surface
- Designed as functional art, not just a surface
- Elevates interiors through craftsmanship and materiality
