Roca to invest Rs 130 Crore in India in 2022 | SURFACE REPORTER Material News Update

Roca, one of the major bath and sanitaryware solution providers in the country is looking to invest Rs 130 cr in the country in this calendar year. The brand has also considered India as one of its crucial markets and thus planning for major market growth across the country. The announcement has been made during the maiden visit of Ferran Vilaclara, Board Member, Roca Sanitario, Spain along with KE Ranganathan, MD, Roca Bathroom Products India. Growth and expansion plan

Roca Parryware has registered 53% growth in 2021 and in the organized sector which forms about Rs 6000 cr, a whooping 32% share in the Indian market. In this calendar year, Roca Parryware has grown by 25% from Jan to March 2022 , which is significantly higher than the other competitors. Ferran along with Ranganathan also announced their investment plan in India to further capture the growth opportunities in the country.

For the calendar year, Roca has set aside a capex of Rs 130 crore. About Rs 80 crore will be invested on regular manufacturing activities and about Rs 50 crore for setting up a new pipes manufacturing facility in Rajasthan. Machineries from latest European state of the art are planned for the factory. The pipes factory will mainly cater to the ever-growing demands for Roca Parryware products in the North, Expected to be ready for commercial production in two years.

Ferran Vilaclara, said, “ India a great country of excellent opportunities and there is great potential available. I am travelling across India for the next two weeks to completely assess the situation firsthand”. Further he added that “Our new investments in India are focused on delivering quality, ensure product affordability and building brand loyalty to deliver long-term growth.”

KE Ranganathan added, “With most of our plants running at full capacity, Roca has been making record productions every month in the Indian market. This is a clear indicator of the overall demand for the brand in India. With this expansion, we will continue to endeavor to widen our reach and provide all of our consumers across the country an enhanced product experience with the best possible blend of form and function”.

Currently, Roca has a strong footprint of about 200 retail outlets and Parryware has a presence of over 1000 dealer outlets and 23000+ retailers across the country.

Parryware, one of the flagship brands of Roca India, entered the pipes and fittings market in December 2018 in Madurai and expanded its footprint in southern markets including Andaman. Currently, a wide range of pipes and fittings are available in Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Bihar and West Bengal.

In India, Roca has 8 production centres with the state of the art technology in – Alwar, Dewas, Perundurai, Sriperumbudur, Ranipet, Bhiwadi, Irungattukottai and Pant Nagar.
