Light Colours and Subtle Design Give A Villa-Like Feel To This Spacious Gurgaon Apartment | Designer’s Abode

An elderly couple approached Saakshi Jaggi of Designer’s Abode to model their home sited in Gurgaon. They were relocating from a villa to an apartment to be closer to their family residing in the same apartment. The design brief was to design a spacious and elegant home for them to live happily in their new home where they would not miss their old house. See how the designer created a villa-like feel in this spacious Gurgaon apartment using a subtle design and neutral colour palette on SURFACES REPORTER (SR).

Neutral Colours Set the Tone

The designer and her creative team used neutral shades to give this home a welcoming and lavish appearance. According to her, the client left them with an open canvas. They developed a design language of a comfortable space using neutral colours, making it warm, inviting, and easy to maintain.

Talking about her design philosophy, Sakshi expresses, “I strongly believe that "Your home should tell the story of who you are, and be a collection of what you love". She firmly believes that a space should reflect the personality of those living there.

The Illusion of a Larger Space

The design team used nude colours on the shell to give an illusion of a visually more prominent space. Pastel-hued furniture with matt copper gives a visual volume to the living area.

They made panelling with metal brass strips on the wall to add subtle glamour to the space.

For the master bedroom, they have added copper mirror strips on either side of the bed and on the opposite wall, which is the TV wall, again creating an illusion of a bigger space.
