Inspiration Behind The Design Concept

The design concept for this space was to give the guest an unusual distinctive experience by creating something exciting and remarkable. The concept was inspired by an Idea – The word POKERFACE, Which talks about "Duality".

The aura of the place is rooted in the same concept of Duality – Visible yet Hidden, Classical yet Contemporary, and Dark yet Colorful.

L-shaped Layout

When realizing this concept, the idea was to make sure the place should strike the best first impression and the layout done was a derivative of this, where all collaborators were keen to ensure that the bar was a unique focal point designed as a termination of two axes in the space and should be the first thing a customer sees when they enter. All that's left should nest the focus and accent its presence. Other seating arrangements were designed where the different sizes of patrons can be accommodated with the space having its unique ambience.

The floor is an L shape layout, which is comprised of a kitchen on the rear side and an entrance on the other edge. The bar counter sits in the middle on a raised level and has a seating area mix of lounge low-height seating and Bar Stools arrangement. The axis was designed with a combination of variable seating options highlighted with a play of lights and the ceiling above them.

Three transitional styles from classic going to contemporary were used in the linear seating arrangements, with variable seating typology.

Bar Counter - The Cynosure

Bar Counter, being the focus has been placed on a raised level at the extreme edge, Highlighted with a big Arch lined with a series of Edison bulbs, highlighting and demarcating the area as the Main Stage.

The bar back was carefully designed as a fluted glass back which brings in natural light during the day and is a backlit display at night highlighting the bar and booze.

The bar stage is further divided into two seating spaces at the edge, which are raised premium seats highlighted with big crystal chandeliers on top and demarcated by a crafted railing all around. The space thus designed has multifunctional characters which double up as a performance space at various events.

This idea, The flexible seating arrangement caters to a dual function–a relaxed bistro during the day and a vibrant bar during the night.

During the evenings, this transition is achieved by comfortably moving the furniture around and allowing these spaces to convert into a stage for a Live Band or a Comic Artist.

Sit, Click and Brainstorm In The Divine Comedy Bar

It's all about Instagram nowadays and the customers are looking for something unique and fun. Where they will have selfies, easy to use and fun to upload. the artwork they used is highly engaging for customers to have fun and be a brand advocate as well.

It has several small spaces that are surrounded by interesting knick-knacks, sculpted designs and photos that offer a great backdrop for visitors' Instagram.

Divine Comedy Bar being the focus had a big Dante painting Called Divine Comedy, featuring 100 world personalities arranged in one painting, this becomes a trippy idea when you sit at a bar with your friend identifying each of them in the creative artwork.

The right wall to the bar has a neon-lit quote Hitting hard on your head and asking – "Who is  your daddy" Not literal but lined with various faces of Known Personalities from different walks of life.

The graphity on one wall floated shelves featuring Oscars, and Wine Display are some other artworks not to be missed. For some, we also used the Name 'Pokerface' with its literal connection to Poker, and the three cards were used In our classical theme family dining space as paintings on the wall.

These cards derived as a Visual graphic placed on a jaali also form a feature wall for selfies just in the front of the lift in the lift lobby when you enter the mall floor.

Effervescent Colours

Colours Palette – an electric, vibrant and dynamic was taken with Red and Black as our prime colours, highlighted with Gold, Turquoise, Peacock green, and Royal blue to add vibrancies to the overall space. Mirrors were added carefully for a decorative and fictional aspect to make the illusion of a bigger and brighter space.

The fearless colour choices, strong geometric templates, and sculpted design elements come together as a celebration–sure to attract visitors for an unforgettable and energizing time.
