Saurabh Malpani completed his Diploma and Degree in Architecture from the School of Architecture at CEPT, Ahmedabad, in 2003. His academic journey included a formative exchange scholarship at Technical University of Delft (1999-2000) and further training at the Faculty of Architecture, University of Porto (2002-2003).
His pursuit of architectural knowledge and skill was further enriched through his studies at the Technical University of Delft, where he attended on an exchange scholarship. Additionally, he received advanced training at the Faculty of Architecture at the University of Porto in Portugal. In the early stages of his career, Saurabh had the privilege of apprenticing with two renowned architects, Geoffrey Bawa in Sri Lanka and Álvaro Siza in Portugal. These experiences provided him with valuable insights into diverse architectural philosophies and practices, shaping his approach to sustainable design.
In 2008, Saurabh, alongside his friend and contemporary Ashka Naik, established Artha Studio. The firm has garnered numerous regional and national accolades, reflecting its dedication to intelligent and sustainable design practices. Notably, Saurabh was honored as the Young Designer of the Year 2009 in the ‘Architectural category’ by Indian Architects and Builders, recognizing his exceptional contributions to the field.
