The house is 105 years old and originally belonged to a Goan family with African connections. The plan of the house is fairly typical of large houses with an impressive entrance staircase, wrap-around balconies, an entrance foyer with 2 living rooms on either side, one large for formal functions, and the other smaller for daily use. Beyond this is a long multi-purpose room which doubles up as dining and family space and circulation to all the bedrooms.
