Christened Shell House, this mussel-shaped modern family recreation centre has been designed by Kovtun Yuri and Burakov Egor of Odessa-based architecture & interior design firm K&B Partners. The house will be built near the sea in Koblevo, Mykolaiv region, Ukraine. The house is designed for small families of 2 people and a large family that can accommodate 4 people or more. To design something extraordinary, Odessa-based architecture & interior design has come up with a unique concept. The idea for creating this home came from the mussel, a very common mollusk in the area.
Wood is primarily used for the foundation of the structure and in the decoration.
The strange shape of the structure and the use of materials make it noticeable in its surroundings. It imitates the shell of a bivalve mollusk where two shells of it joint with a hinge.
The project is scheduled to be finished in the spring of 2023.
