A study by Harvard Business Review noted that women in any field of work who have broken the glass ceiling, adhered to many ways and rules of conduct that spelled success for men. However, the second wave of women are making their way as top professionals and entrepreneurs, not by adopting the style and habits that proved successful for men but by drawing on the skills and attitudes that they developed from their shared experiences as women.
WADE ASIA is by far the largest platform for women in design, architecture, art and built space. It celebrates women-led development and design throughout the year. From our experiences over the years and annual surveys, we can see that women in design are rising very well. They are quick to learn and are building on their dreams & aspirations with a new found confidence and strength - the power of community.
Many media houses write about women specially during March and international women’s day. Good to see how the perspective about women in design is changing. In an article, The Sunday Guardian says, Indian women architects are at the top of their game. Julia Gamolina, Director of Strategy at Trahan Architects writes, there is a tendency in the media to speak about the absence of women at the top of the architectural field. She argues. “Instead of asking ‘Where are these women?’, start writing about them and telling their unique stories.”
This issue features the winners of WADE AWARDS 2022. We feel proud to be championing the platform for champions.
WADE ASIA is happening from 18-20 August 2023 at Pragati Maidan Delhi. It is open for submission of projects. Other opportunities are mentioned in www.wadeasia.com
