Supriya Thyagarajan's journey began in London, where she balanced studying with working at a boutique architecture firm in Chelsea. Her manager was instrumental in supporting her studies and providing valuable exposure to Project Management. Supriya dedicated significant time on project sites, learning about the sequence of work necessary to achieve high-quality results.
Her schedule was demanding—working three days a week, attending college two days, completing assignments on weekends, and enjoying the vibrant city of London.

- Location : Mumbai
- Notable Projects: Stanford Hospital, The Pearl at the Palms, The Weld
With the onset of the recession, work slowed down, leading Supriya to return to India in 2010. She had applied for a position at a German Project Management firm, where from 2010 to 2013, she worked as a Design Manager on various projects. This role involved collaborating with reputable developers and gaining insights into the client’s decision-making processes.
In 2013, Supriya joined Perkins Eastman as a Project Manager. In this role, she managed internal resources and oversaw the delivery of several large projects. As the only non-designer in the office, she took on diverse tasks, including marketing, business development, and office administration. By 2016, she had been promoted to Managing Principal of the Mumbai office. During her eight years at Perkins Eastman, she had the opportunity to work on prestigious higher education projects like Ashoka University and the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS). Supriya's growth alongside her projects and clients has been a source of immense satisfaction for her.
Perkins Eastman is a global architecture and design firm committed to the transformative power of design in enhancing people’s lives. With over 1,000 employees across 23 offices worldwide, we excel in fostering seamless collaboration across borders, disciplines, and barriers to connect people and ideas.
Notable Projects:
- Stanford Hospital: This pioneering healthcare facility embodies a bold vision for the future of medicine, emphasizing patient and staff wellness and setting a new benchmark for resilient architecture. Designed in collaboration with Rafael Viñoly Architects, Perkins Eastman has created a biophilic and hospitality-oriented building that promotes effective treatment and healing. The facility features a modular, adaptable design capable of withstanding a 500-year seismic event and accommodating the evolving needs of the Stanford community.
- The Pearl at the Palms: This project is part of a $600 million expansion of a casino and hotel in Las Vegas, including the creation of a versatile rock-concert venue. The expansion features a 2,500-seat concert theater and an 11,000-square-foot ballroom. Designed primarily for rock concerts, the theater includes advanced audio and visual technology to support live television broadcasts.
- The Weld: Located on the edge of Dorothea Dix Park, this mixed-use development integrates a new public plaza that connects to the park. The project includes over a thousand residential units and 30,000 square feet of retail space, creating a dynamic new district in southern downtown Raleigh. Perkins Eastman is responsible for designing Phase II, which encompasses just over half of the total residential units.
