Located in Pune and spanning across an area of 1000 sqm, this sumptuous and fashionable bungalow, designed by Sujata Chitalwala and Ar. Husain Jariwala, is a stunning amalgamation of minimalism and regalism designed for an intergenerational family. The client, a family-oriented gentleman having numerous friends and peers, requested a chipper home that is clutter-free and easily serves as a great place to host guests and extended family for occasions and celebrations. SURFACES REPORTER (SR) loves how wonderfully the expanse of this residence has been treated. Take a look:

Being a second home for the client, the client’s brief simply called for an ultra-luxurious and larger than life biological retreat with an interesting and charismatic ambience.
One might enter this beguiling house and savour the feel of opulence and grace at the same time.
With open kitchen space and the living room, the space possesses the perfect blend of minimalism and grandeur.
Dining Space With A Beautiful Skylight
Pockets of different types of seating, reflecting contemporary sophistication, spread across the entire living and connected dining area.
A stunning skylight above the dining area adds an element of surprise and wonder.
The wall treatment fabricated with wooden louvres lends an elegant vibe while conceding entry to a magnificent bedroom and powder toilet.
This bedroom is designed for the client’s grandparents where the interior scheme resonates with their personal choices and desires.
A four-poster bed, a vast study and comfortable loungers were all bestowed in the room keeping in mind the reading habits and other requirements of the users.
The brick wallpaper and wooden flooring used for the entire design scheme resonate their grounded character and strong values. The washroom is provided with an artificial green wall and a skylight.
Leather as the Chief Material Palette
A glamorous informal seating area on the left of the entrance door is reflective of valour and amiability. The complete area ushers a gleaming vibe through the leather used as the overall material palette.
The carpet laid here is made of horse leather. The wooden rafters serve as the backdrop brilliantly installed at an angle allowing the fluidity of the space in terms of vision between the spaces.
This blue textured wall is both amorous and picturesque.
Moving further inside, on the right is an enormous double-height dining table with a background wall displaying a flight of butterflies.
A gigantic staircase on the left of the dining area meanders over to the upper floor.

Home Theatre cum Family Lounge
An open to sky cantilevered passage on the first floor is directed towards the home theatre cum family lounge where one can endure a complete theatre experience with recliners or enjoy intimate family time.
The 50 feet long balcony on this floor is designed to rejuvenate, as it displays the picture-perfect scenic view of the sunset beyond the lush greens of the backyard.
The contour and landscape are rendered in such a fashion that the bedrooms at the upper levels encompass enormous projections creating a dialogue with the outdoors.
The house exhibits immense character but with a reassuring sense of comfort and warmth.
Using state-of-the-art material and unique interior design concepts, this ideological retreat reflects the high-standards and expectations of the occupants.
This, along with the transitional colour palette and unique and purposefully chosen decor elements, make this residence truly one of a kind.
