A Unique Coffee Table With Hidden Home Gardening System For Smaller Spaces

As home gardening is gaining popularity in recent years, people who live in compact city complexes might feel disheartened from starting their interior garden projects. Urban gardening is difficult, especially when you live in small apartments, for so many reasons- it is time-consuming, creates a mess, requires a lot of window ledge space and natural light. However, designers like Mikolaj Nicer, Jakub Maciejczyk and Grzegorz Szczupal attempt to bridge the closely packed areas in which many of us live with our strong desires to remain still close to nature and live sustainably through SOLE. It is a small coffee table with a hidden, self-maintained, miniature garden. It is a beautiful multipurpose furniture solution for city dwellers who want to fill their interiors with natural greens without the fuss that usually comes with them. SURFACES REPORTER (SR) shares below more about the product:

As we all are now itching to live closer to nature post lockdown, SOLE seems like a perfect ultra-modern furniture piece for any city-living space. It takes up as little space as possible to fit into even the cosiest apartments or studios. Also, this table has a dedicated space for cultivating plants to make home gardening smooth and simple.

The multifunctional furniture has ample space on the top section for placing items, but it also displays its functionality off when the drawers are pulled.

The table maintains the perfect climate, light, temperature and nutrients required to grow the chosen plants quickly, and it also keeps the dwellers supplied with fresh air and natural ingredients.

While experimenting with the effect of exposure time, temperature, colour, the intensity of light, along with angle and distance of light distribution, the designers came to incorporate a lighting system fit that mimics the effect of sun’s light on indoor plants, and thus enhance the growth of plants cultivated inside the table.

The garden inside the table is maintained mainly by RGB diodes that release light similar to sunlight. Further, the RGB diodes in the table can be adjusted according to each plant’s needs.

The grow box inside the SOLE coffee table offers ideal space and optimal development conditionals for plants or herbs. The three separate pots in the grow box can easily be removed for cleaning. It also maintains the irrigation through fully-integrated water tanks and fertilizing mechanisms.

Lastly, the table features a connected design, which means you can manage, modify, and maintain the whole plant growing system through your smartphone, PC, tablet, or control panel adjusted beneath the coffee table’s sliding door.
