Dawn of Gaming Architecture

PUBG MOBILE is based on PLAYERUNKNOWN'S BATTLEGROUNDS, the phenomenon that took the world by storm in 2017 as it allows upto 100 players to parachute on a remote island to battle in a winner-takes-all showdown. All players must locate and scavenge their weapons, vehicles and supplies while defeating other players in a visually and tactically rich battleground. From constructed buildings, strategically placed landscapes to utter ruins, the battleground is full of architectural props that allow gamers to experience real life surroundings in virtual environment to enhance their gaming experience.

According to the release on ZHA website, "the firm is partnering with PUBG Mobile in an upcoming collaboration that will enable players around the world to experience innovative architecture in the virtual world.”

According to the experts, games are a way to unlock real-world architecture. They pave way for the architects and designers to experiment, as after all, the games too are built spaces that are constructed and completed with buildings and landscapes. In fact, the experts in the field are now experimenting and investigating the future of cities and find new ways to think about materials and technologies. With PUBG Mobile partnering with ZHA might be the first partnership of this level, but the stage has already been set and SR feels that the avenues are just opening up not only for the gaming lovers but also for aspiring architects and designers.
