Tile Council of North America Donates Tiled Doghouses | Coverings 2022

At Coverings 2022 in Las Vegas, Tile Council of North America, Inc (TCNA) members including American Wonder Porcelain (booth # N2314), Anthology (booth # N2714), Casa Ceramica (booth # N2226), Crossville, Inc (booth # N2304), Florida Tile (booth # N2504), Jeffrey Court (booth # C4835), and Syzygy Tile (booth # N2127) have donated handcrafted, one-of-a-kind tiled doghouses to The Animal Foundation.

“TCNA is pleased to work this year with The Animal Foundation to help them achieve their goal of helping Las Vegas-area pets,” said Kathy Meyer, Marketing Director, TCNA. “The doghouses are a showcase of yet one more way tile can be used to make a home a work of art.”

The forms used to make the doghouses have been custom manufactured and contributed by Wedi Corp (booth # 2371). The doghouses will be available at The Animal Foundation’s annual Best in Show fundraising event. “The funds raised from their auction will go a long way towards providing the care and treatment needed for the nearly 25,000 animals we take in annually. We appreciate TCNA's support in helping thousands of homeless, injured and neglected Las Vegas Valley animals waiting to find a home and family to love,” said Cassie McIntyre, Director of Development, The Animal Foundation.

During Coverings 2022, the doghouses were displayed in TCNA’s booth (#2328), where a donation ceremony had been held. Here are the remarkable tiled doghouses that were showcased at the gala.

American Wonder Porcelain (booth # N2314)

Featuring a bold mix of the dramatic, marble-look Adagio Porcelain and striking Aegean Stone Porcelain on the exterior, this house includes fun poker chip and playing card accents at its entrance. There is also the famous ‘A Friend in Need’ from the ‘Dogs Playing Poker’ painting series by Cassius Marcellus Coolidge on the inside.

Anthology (booth # N2714)

The inspiration for Anthology’s doghouse came from the current bold, black and white design trend. Anthology’s unique marble mosaics tile the roof, perfectly modeling real shingles, and the black accents are just the right finishing touch. Ceramic tiles from Walker Zanger adorn the front and back of the elegant doggie villa. Anthology’s sleek, clean, white subway tiles complete this masterpiece. The charcoal puppy paws, made from Anthology’s circular stone mosaics are an additional highlight.

Casa Ceramica (booth # N2226)

Casa Ceramica’s Las Vegas-inspired doghouse has been designed and installed by their in-house design and installation team. The tiles and trim pieces are from Casa Ceramica’s most popular tile collections, namely, Mediterranean and Palacio. The plaque and bones are handmade locally in Florida and add a final playful touch.

Crossville, Inc (booth # N2304)

Crossville’s doghouse showcases tile from their Classic Grooves collection with a palm mosaic roof. The doghouse also features snow and ice glass and natural stone stacked mosaics trim from their Ebb and Flow collection.

Florida Tile (booth # N2504)

Created by Florida Tile, this doghouse features Cotto d’Este 3.5 mm Kerlite Wonderwall (finish: Natural; colour: Foliage) that makes this visually striking, biophilia-inspired home appealing.

Jeffrey Court (booth # C4835)

With its black and white theme, this doghouse has been designed as the perfect outfit every fashion icon needs for a grand ball event. Beginning with the pantsuit, the back and side walls have been created with Jeffrey Court’s 3" x 10" field tile in polished Nero Marquina from their Chapter 18 Rotunda Collection. The dress shirt front of the home features a custom Jeffrey Court logo using a 5/8" hexagon mosaic from their Chapter 14 The Press collection in white and black. To accessorize and complete the ensemble, Jeffrey Court added a statement jewelry piece – the roof. Decorated with their unique Roulette Mosaic and featuring black, white and pink natural stone from their Eternal anniversary collection, it is sure to turn heads. The doghouse has been designed by Susan Chance and installed by Maison Surface Studio, Upland, CA.

Syzygy Tile (booth # N2127)

The front of Syzygy’s doghouse is clad in their 3" Cadence Lo in Aspen Bark, and the sides feature 2" Cadence Lo and alternate between their Blanca and Lava glazes. The roof showcases Syzygy’s Quite Contrary Mosaic in a custom-blend of gloss, matte and metallic finishes featuring an array of glazes including Powdered Sugar, Aspen Bark, White Satin, Bone, Vanilla, Milk, Bruce White, Black, Matte Black, Gold Gimmer, Ivory and Snow White. The back of the doghouse features a striking pattern with Syzygy’s Parallelogram #2 in Aspen Bark.
