On the occasion of Hanuman Jayanti, Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled a 108-feet statue of Hanuman in Morbi, Gujarat through video conferencing. Part of the Hanumanji Char Dham project, the recently inaugurated Hanuman statue is the second of the four statues being set up in four parts of the country.
Posting a message on Twitter, he said, “Today, we mark the special occasion of Hanuman Jayanti. In Morbi, at 11 AM, a 108 feet statue of Hanuman ji will be inaugurated. I am honoured to be getting the opportunity to be a part of this programme via video conferencing.”
The first statue of the series has been set up the north in Himachal Pradesh’s Shimla in 2010. The other two will be constructed in Rameswaram and West Bengal, of which the work on the former is under progress. The statue has been installed by the Shree Harish Chander Nanda Education and Charitable Trust.
