A Cultural Fusion Retreat

This home's design originated from the family's desire for a contemporary retreat in India that reflects their diverse heritage. With roots in India and Australia, they sought a space that harmoniously blends elements from both cultures.

Alkove-Design embraced this challenge, embarking on a unique creative journey to bring their vision to life.

Bridging Distances with Technology

Despite the distance between the design team and clients, modern technology enabled seamless communication and collaboration. Through WhatsApp and video calls, ideas flowed effortlessly, allowing for smooth decision-making.

The home, nestled within The Ark Voyage in Pune, welcomes visitors with a vibrant scarlet entrance lobby that radiates warmth and energy, setting a lively tone for the entire space.

A Harmonious Blend of Cultures

Stepping into the living room, a sense of calm washes over you, enhanced by serene indigo accent walls. Sunlight pours through the windows, casting a warm, golden glow that invites tranquility.

The dining area, adorned with aboriginal art and rustic stone tables, pays tribute to the family’s Australian roots while embracing the vibrancy of Indian culture. This beautiful juxtaposition perfectly highlights the couple's rich and diverse heritage.

Culinary Creativity and Vibrant Spaces

The kitchen, designed for Mrs. Pachare’s gourmet experiments, features elegant Calcutta Lux stone, providing a sophisticated backdrop for her culinary creations.

The entertainment lounge captivates with its vibrant color palette and exquisite Rajasthani craftsmanship, showcasing a re-creation of an S.H. Raza masterpiece that connects to the couple's Indian roots.

Functional and Serene Retreats

Further in, the study room blends work and leisure, adorned with soft oak furniture and lively lime green accents, highlighted by a vivid Raza painting from Alkove-Design.

The serene bedrooms offer a tranquil escape: the master bedroom, with pastel turquoise walls, and the son's room, featuring refreshing mauve tones that double as a cozy guest space.
